LILLIAN HANKEL

Lillian's new work extends her life-long investigation of her (Western) culture's relationship with nature. The new collage paintings move towards a narrative form while maintaining the direct simplicity of her last body of work.

Lillian Hankel's work is held in Western Australian public collections and private collections here and abroad. Studies in Canada and New York City in the 1970s-80s laid the basis for highly inventive uses of materials and processes. Her work has been shown in Perth, Melbourne, Toronto and New York and has been represented by Perth Galleries since 2002.
