PETER ZAPPA

Peter Zappa is a practising sculptor in WA who has exhibited in Perth, Melbourne and Sydney. He is predominantly interested in notions of perception; in particular, the way in which people, as cognitive beings, interact with the real spatial environment in which they exist. He draws inspiration for his ideas from the playful and poetic works of Alexander Calder, the creator of the mobile. Peter acknowledges Calder as an artist who masterfully blended science and art. Peter's sculptures are formed in the age-old tradition of blacksmithing with the modern material of stainless steel.
